Two Great Treatments for Herniated Discs in the Low Back
Decompression therapy, which is a very precise form of traction that rehydrates the disc and pulls it back into alignment, can be very effective. At least 20 treatments are required, and the cost can run anywhere from $75 to 200 per treatment. Prolotherapy is a series of injections that stimulates a regrowth and stabilization of the ligaments in the back. This can eliminate inflammation and support the discs just fine. Depending on how many treatments are required, the cost is similar to that of decompression therapy. We have both therapies available in our office and are pleased with both.
